Two Types of Sciatica

Most people are suffering from a combination of  Functional Sciatica and Structural Sciatica.

Functional Sciatica is muscles imbalance and restriction type of Sciatica.  Muscles spasm or muscle strain can impinge the Sciatic Nerve causing the Sciatica symptoms referring pain from your lower back to the buttocks/ pelvis area, and down to thigh and lower leg.  The Causes of Functional Sciatica varies from faulty gait or improper gait movement (the way you walk) to muscles imbalance in the lower leg muscles and the upper leg muscles, or from wearing improper support shoes or foot wears.  Treatment consists of acquire proper footwear and shoes; acupressure points or trigger point therapies; manipulations to feet, ankles, knees, hips, pelvis, and lower back; correct the faulty gait; balance out the lower legs and upper legs muscles with corrective exercises and stretches.

Structure Sciatica is a nerve impingement due to arthritis in lower back or pelvis or disc bulging pushing onto the sciatic nerve or nerve in the lumbosacral area.  The Causes of  Structural  Sciatica could be due to arthritis bone protruding onto the sciatica nerve or disc bulge pushing onto the sciatic nerve; faulty gait or improper gait movement (the way you walk); improper footwear; or muscles imbalance in lower legs and upper legs.  Treatment is similar to the Functional Sciatica.  Treatment consists of wear proper footwear and shoes; acupressure points or trigger point therapies; manipulations to the feet, ankles, knees, hips, pelvis, and lower back; correct the faulty gait; balance out the lower legs and upper legs muscles with corrective exercises and stretches.
